Welcome to The Grey Council, Dalaran server in  World of Warcraft.

About The Grey Council
The Grey Council originally started in 2010 on the Brandywine server of Lord of the Rings Online.  The Guild began as a haven for older, mature players who shared the same interests in regards to gaming.  We have always been a casual and laid back guild, far from the hardcore guilds that force you to raid or group and then kick you out if you don't .  We did not want that.

Lot of people have busy lives or kids of their own and it is hard to get away and commit to a Raid or a long Dungeon, some of the ones in Lotro could take hours then.  We were spontaneous, never had an agenda or a plan, just login see who was on and get it done.  We would group then and get the same results.  This is what we want The Grey Council Wow to be!  We hope you will commit to the growth of The Grey Council, because we are excited to have you.

Guild Rules

Membership Rules

As a respected member of The Grey Council, we ask all members to please behave themselves while venturing in Azeroth. You are a representative of this guild and we ask you to behave responsibly. We do not like drama in this kin and expect all members to be mature. Below are the guidelines that the Officers expect all kin members to abide by.

1. Voice chat:
* First and foremost, The Grey Council uses the Ventrilo voice chat system for in-game communication. It is not required but does help when Raiding or running dungeons.

2.  Be mindful of what you say:
* Please refrain from using excessive foul language, in any public channel or Ventrilo chat. The occasional F-bomb is ok...but constant F-bombs will not be tolerated. Members playing online do have kids and they could be watching and listening at any time. Always be mindful what you say in the in-game chat, what might be funny to you can be offensive to others. Also things not to discuss in the Kin chat or on vent, Politics, Religion, or Sexual Orientation.  We are gamers, we do not know each other so these three topics are off limits in the kin chat.  We do not discriminate  against, race, religion, political views or sexual orientation, but please keep these topics to yourself or in a private chat.

3. No drama!
* Respect all players; Guild Members and non-guild members alike. If you have a problem with a guildie or another member of the game and you cannot resolve it between yourselves, contact an Officer or send an in-game email to the Leader, explaining the issue. As Leader of this guild, I will always get both sides of an issue and try to work it out.  If this issue is a non guildie and a violation of WOW game policies, please report to Game Master (GM) via issue ticket.

4. Our webpage:
* I would like for you all  to sign in at least once a month on our web page. This allows us to track active players and keep tabs on characters not being played.

* We also place important information, forums and events on the webpage and all members should be checking these out. You can't complain about missing something if you keep tabs on this web page.

* As a member, you can place your own forum, place an event on calander that matches up with your playing time schedule and lets others know what you intended to do and need help on. It's a valuable tool in this Kinship.

* And last about the web page, if you build a new character or import one into the kin, you need to log on the webpage and CLAIM that toon as yours. If not done within 24hrs, it defaults under the leader. As Leader, I will pass in Guild chat  about toons that needing to be claimed.

 5. Guild Note for Alts :
* Please make a note by your alts names that indicated who the main character is.  This helps us when we go through to clean up inactive players.

6. Recruiting:
* As a growing guild, we try to recruit players that will stick with the guild. Any member can direct a potential player to the webpage to fill out an application. Please direct players that you have been playing in-game with if they are looking to join. Random players asking to join, should be directed to an Officer for a chat before we send them to the webpage. Ask that they place the name of the character that recruited them in the kin under  "What can you do for the Kin?" question on the application.  I want to give credit to those that recruit new members.

7. Guild Vault:
* As a guild we like to help all players out as much as possible.  With that their is a guild bank that all members have access to .  All we ask is that you take what you will use for the character you have in The Grey Council.

 1) No selling on AH  Items in the Guild Bank are not to be sold.  If a member places the item in the bank they had the opportunity to sell it themselves, they were doing their part my placing items in the guild bank for others, that either need to grind with, or even upgrade  equipment.  Only time an item should be sold is a.) low level items that noone wil user, or 2) item has sat in vault for so long and noone wants it.  At this time selling the item would be accepted, make sure you get with an officer on the items in question.

2) Tabard and Bags We supply tabards and netherweave bags to players.  These bags are to be used for players in the guild and are never to be sold on the AH. Their is a limit of 1 per day.  No individual  character should take more then 4 bags per toon out.   Just remember someone takes time to not only gather mats for the bags, but also the time to make them and drop them in the Vault for all to use.

3) Gold Deposits  if you feel the need to make a deposit to the guild with gold, feel free to do so  but make sure before you do you let an officer know so we can document the donation.  The Vault is being snapshot daily and moved over to an excel sheet , but with the repairs and item deposits, gold deposits may not show by the next morning.  Let's keep this  a community that helps one another and not be greedy.

 8. Asking for Help:
* Don't be afraid to ask for help. The officers like to help out within our own guidelines, so please ask for assistance when you need it. We will always try to find a way to make something happen for you. But be patient, we are sometimes busy ourselves with the game and can not stop to help immediately. There is no rush in this game, we will help you get organized with the right type of help you need, to complete what your doing.

 9. Do Not Ask For Handouts
* In The Grey Council we like helping others, however their is a limit.  Please do not ask other players in guild or even not in the guild for gold.  Gold is easily made with a gathering profession, and when you reach 90 through your garrison. In order to be successful in any game you must be able to provide for yourself for upgrades or extras.  Most everything can be found through quests, dungeons or raids, especially gold.

If you decide to join us, then welcome to the guild, enjoy the game, it is always expanding and we are always learning new things. Please feel free to ask an Officer to join you in private tell/chat to talk about stuff or get advice. It's what we are here. Good luck.

Thanks and enjoy the game
